General
From the end of 2025: We will be collaborating with the Techniklounge Schwarzfischer in Regensburg. Here, you can inspect our speakers and, of course, listen to them extensively.
Due to the high costs of distribution through a dealer network, we rely on direct marketing and hope you understand our goal of offering you high-end products at the fairest possible prices. Therefore, we are currently unable to name any other listening locations.
The effort and costs of distributing through hi-fi retailers are immense. As a small but fine manufacturer, we want to market our products at the best possible price and therefore rely solely on direct sales.
From the end of 2025: The Techniklounge Schwarzfischer in Regensburg will be available as a local partner. There you can get to know our speakers and listen to them firsthand.
Technology: Speakers
During our quality assurance process, the drivers are already stressed and broken in.
We recommend playing the speakers with different music styles for the first 10 hours. The material should have as wide a frequency response as possible, from deep bass to clear highs, to break in all the drivers equally.
The volume should also be varied and increased gradually. Avoid very high levels, especially during the first 5 hours. After approximately 10 hours of break-in time, you can enjoy your favorite music to the fullest.
Every listening room has its own characteristics, so there are no specific recommendations for the best setup for your new speakers.
However, we have developed a guide that is often found in practice, either in the same way or at least similar, and that delivers excellent results. You can find these setup instructions in our download section.
Technology: Amplifier
We always provide a reasonable power range (RMS / continuous load) in the technical specifications for your reference.
Generally speaking, a 4-ohm speaker requires more power to achieve the same volume as an 8-ohm speaker. This is due to the different ratios of voltage, current, and resistance in electronic circuits.
You can use amplifiers with a higher power output. Make sure that the recommended maximum power (“peak”), which you can find in the manual, is not exceeded, or not exceeded for long. If you hear distortion or knocking in the sound, reduce the volume immediately to prevent damage to the drivers.
Due to their technological nature, tube amplifiers have a rather low power output. Therefore, they are often operated with high-efficiency speakers to achieve good volume levels.
Our speakers are in the upper midrange in terms of efficiency, at around 88 dB/1W at 4 ohms. It was important to us to develop a linear frequency response that impresses with a balanced sound, rather than allowing maximum volume, which is rarely required in practice.
We were also able to implement a very linear impedance curve across the frequency range, which is particularly suitable for tube amplifiers.
From a technical perspective, there is nothing to prevent our sound furniture from being operated with a tube amplifier. We recommend a tube amplifier output of at least 40W per channel (for our model LH5 Purity).
Technology: Cable
In principle, you can use any high-quality speaker cable. However, there are a few important tips to consider:
Keep your cable as short as possible. The longer your cable needs to be, the larger the cross-section should be. However, you don’t have to overdo it. For example, you can easily bridge distances of up to 7 meters with a cross-section of 2x 4mm².
We also recommend always using two cables of the same length. This has nothing to do with the audio signal’s propagation time, but rather with the typical properties of a cable (capacitive, inductive, resistive).
It’s also important that the cables have solid connectors to keep contact resistance as low as possible.
We offer suitable cables, which we also use to tune our speakers. Here, you can be assured that the best materials, perfectly fitting connectors, and high-quality workmanship ensure reliable and optimal sound transmission.
Some manufacturers specify a break-in period or connection direction. Of course, one could say that the cables may “slump” somewhat in their position. But considering the construction and function of a cable alone, there’s nothing to suggest a break-in period or a specific direction. In our experience, physical effects that might occur with a speaker cable are not measurable, let alone audible.
Order & Pay
LautHolz speakers are highly individual pieces of sound furniture. In our experience, it’s best to discuss the configuration by phone or email.
Once you receive a quote from us, you can accept it by email and place a binding order.
For less complex accessories, you can proceed in the same way as for the speakers or send us a direct request for a quote with your desired configuration by email. We will then send you a quote that you can place a binding order with.

You can generally choose from the following options: PayPal, Sofortüberweisung, and bank transfer. Please note that we do not accept payment by credit card.
For LautHolz speakers, 50% of the purchase price is due upon order. The remaining payment is due upon completion of your speakers.
For LautHolz accessories, the total amount is due upon order.

Your custom speakers are handcrafted by us. As a manufacturer, we strive to offer you the highest quality.
The production of such unique pieces typically takes four to six weeks. This time includes the complete measurement and quality assurance process, which marks the end of the manufacturing process.
Shipping & Delivery
Our speakers fall into the category of sound furniture. Due to their size and weight, they can only be delivered by freight forwarder. For this reason, we cannot provide a flat-rate shipping cost.
However, we would like to let you know that we work with local professionals in the speaker sector and always keep an eye on costs for you.
For all other products in the accessories section, we ship free of charge! Exceptions, for example, for shipping outside of Germany, can be found in the shipping information section.
The corresponding delivery times are indicated for accessories. Please note that we may need to allow 2-3 days, especially for custom-made cables. You will receive all necessary information during the ordering process. We will notify you immediately with a tracking number as soon as your ordered products are shipped.
Our speakers have a delivery time of 5-8 weeks. As a provider of highly customizable high-end speakers (364 variants are possible), which we manufacture exclusively to customer order, we ask for your understanding that delivery times may take several weeks. We are aware of the time frame and work diligently to process your order. You will receive regular email updates from production status to delivery.
Please note that delivery times may vary depending on the destination. However, we are generally able to adhere to the 8-week limit, including delivery.

Since we use a freight forwarder, we can respond flexibly to your needs. Please contact us. We would be happy to provide you with a customized quote for delivery to the installation site.
Yes, that’s possible. Please feel free to contact us. We’ll then discuss the pickup details with you in person.
Yes, both the speakers and accessories are shipped exclusively with insurance.
Upon receipt of the goods, please inspect the shipping packaging for external damage before signing your receipt. If you discover any damage, please have it confirmed in writing before accepting the goods.
If you discover any damage after unpacking, please report it within 24 hours to info@lautholz.de.
If you experience a non-delivery, or if the tracking information indicates that your package was delivered by the carrier but you haven’t received it, you must contact us within 7 days and file a claim at info@lautholz.de. We will help you work with the carrier to complete the claim process. Please note that requests may take up to 30 days to process.
LautHolz currently delivers to addresses in the following countries: Germany, Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain and the Czech Republic.
